We’re back! Limited in-person activities will begin on July 6, 2021. We have been planning for this for months and look forward to welcoming back all athletes and coaches.
The health and safety of athletes, volunteers and employees is our number one priority. Based on our understanding of the improved environment in Southern California with respect to the pandemic and heeding advice from state, local, SOI and other health experts, we are ready to move to Phase 1 of our Return to Activity Plan for Sports & Programs.
What does this mean? SOSC will support gatherings of 10 or fewer athletes and coaches. The emphasis in Phase 1 will be on general conditioning and fitness activities, like running/walking clubs, and Team Wellness. We will offer golf and bocce as well. We encourage all SOSC athletes to participate. There will be no competition in Phase 1 and we will remain in Phase 1 for 90 days. For those athletes and coaches who are not ready to return to in-person activity, we will continue offering virtual events and activities; learn more at www.sosc.org/hlc.
How do I get started?
- Athletes and coaches need to complete two new forms, the COVID-19 Waiver and the COVID-19 Code of Conduct. You can find these on our website at www.sosc.org/rta.
- Athletes with an expired medical must renew their medicals.
- Volunteers must be current with Class A clearances.
- There will be some COVID-19 related training that you must complete to understand the health and safety practices that must be observed so that everyone stays healthy.
All of this information can be found at our new Return to Activity website: www.sosc.org/rta.
What if I don’t have access to a computer or I need help? You can call 562.502.1103 to leave a message if you want assistance or to request that we send you the Return to Activity materials by mail. You can also contact your local SOSC office for assistance.
All of us at SOSC look forward to seeing you in person in July.
