LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 23) – Calling all runners. The seasonal calendar officially turned to summer this month, and that means extended daylight to get in great Saturday morning runs.
And we want to know about them as you get ready for the 2017 We Run The City 5K/10K presented by @The Smile Generation. The annual race benefits Special Olympics Southern California athletes and will be held Sunday, Nov. 19.
With that in mind, it is time for our #SaturdaySweat Summer promotion.
This summer post great photos of your Saturday run and tag us with #WeAreSOSC on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter. Throughout the summer months, we will chose the best #SaturdaySweat summer run photos from your Saturday run. Those selected get a FREE entry into the We Run the City 5K (or the virtual run for those who can’t attend and want to be a part of the fun).
Follow SOSC social media throughout the summer for announcement of winners. Remember, this is for that extended Saturday run only. So, show us a fun location, your team doing the run together, or just a great picture from your run.
In the spirit of what makes the We Run The City 5K/10K so unique, make sure to have your team of choice represented in the photo. Who will we see more of, USC runners? How about those Bruins of UCLA?

Fine print: This is for the #SaturdaySweat Summer promotion. Final date for entries will be on Saturday, Sept. 23, the day after the Autumn Equinox. We will select photos posted with the hashtag #WeAreSOSC and on Saturdays only. There is no number of winners as it will be based on entries. Those photos selected will be posted on Special Olympics Southern California social media channels and the holder of account will be messaged through that channel. Those earning a free entry are limited to one for the person owning account post originated.
