The embarrassment of riches keep coming for Krystal Johnson.
Less than two weeks away from participation at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, it was announced Wednesday that the Western San Bernardino athlete was one of five Southern California athletes selected for the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi.
But before she shifts her focus to tennis next summer, Krystal has four track and field events on her plate from July 1-6 in Seattle. Her final tune-up was at the 2018 Summer Games earlier this month at Cal State Long Beach, where she won gold medals in the 200-meter run and shot put.
Krystal also will be running the 100 and women’s 4×100 relay at USA Games.
“It is exciting,” she said of the opportunity. “I’m ready to do my best.”
