USA Games Spotlight: Amanda Maling

Amanda Maling and her bocce teammates are looking to add to their gold medal count in 2018.

Amanda is one of four bocce athletes competing as part of the Inland Empire Morongo Basin team at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games from July 1-6 in Seattle. Her partner in doubles action will be Michelle Pence.

The team has already won gold at the Inland Empire Regional Spring Games and Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games this year.

The selection to USA Games surprised her “in a happy way.”

When she’s not competing in Special Olympics competitions, Amanda works as a front desk receptionist in Yucca Valley.

“I’ve been doing it for three years,” Amanda said. “I enjoy it… being part of the staff.”
