Jennifer Palacios’ involvement with Special Olympics Southern California has led to happiness and a growing comfort socially.
Now, in five days, it will take her to Seattle for a week sure to be full of memorable moments.
Jennifer is one of 66 athletes taking part in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, which will be broadcast on ESPN. The Norwalk resident will compete in four track and field events: the 100- and 200-meter run, the 4×100 relay and shot put.
She wants others with intellectual disabilities to know that Special Olympics can have the same positive impact in their lives.
“I would tell them that it will be a fun adventure,” Jennifer said. “You meet a lot of new friends and a lot of new people that have the same disability as you.”
