SOSC to Cancel All Fundraising Events through June Due to Coronavirus

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, we are cancelling all in-person fundraising events through June.

We did not make this decision lightly, but after the latest information and direction we received from the State of California; our Official Health Partner, Kaiser Permanente; and local authorities, we believe this is in the best course of action. We will continue to put the health and safety of the Special Olympics Southern California community first.

Special Olympics Athletes Need Your Support

With these events being cancelled, we need your support more than ever to reach our spring fundraising goal of $350,000. The gifts that you provide will help us continue to provide important health and wellness programming for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, which is critical now more than ever.

On April 6, we will launch the SOSC Healthy Lifestyle Challenge to keep athletes, coaches, and fans active and engaged. This challenge will feature daily activities to help athletes stay fit, eat smart, and have fun. We are also making preparations for our next sports seasons so we are ready to act quickly when protective measures are lifted.

How You Can Help Us Reach Our $350,000 Goal

  • Make a donation at sosc.org/doubleyourgift, and your gift will be matched (up to $15,000), thanks to an anonymous donor.
  • Enter the Dream House Raffle, and you will not only help athletes win on and off the playing field, but you could win a dream house! Learn more at https://socalraffle.com.
  • Participate in the Heart of a Champion online auction to win gourmet dinner packages, wine baskets, memorabilia, and more. Next week, we will provide more information on how to sign up at sosc.org/hoc.
  • Everybody Dance Now! Be on the lookout for SOSC’s very own Dance Challenge, launching on Wednesday, April 8.

Take care!
