Based on our on-going consideration of current information, SOSC has made the decision to cancel all Fall competitions including all local, Regional, and Chapter competitions. We will continue with Healthy Lifestyle Challenge in the Fall to engage the entire SOSC community in not only staying active , but to help keep our community of athletes, their families, volunteers, and donors connected to each other despite social distancing.
SOSC sports staff have created detailed plans for a phased approach to returning to training and competition, using newly developed SOI guidelines and recommendations. We do not have a timeline for when we can move into the next phase of activity. However, we will continue to monitor national, state, county and local regulations and advisories from health authorities to determine when we feel it is safe to move to the next phase and reinstate in-person training and other team activities. Return to Activities will involve implementing specific health screening and hygiene protocols for equipment, facilities and for all participants.
There is still much uncertainty on when returning to sports and large gatherings will be a safe and viable option. Because our work involves a high-risk population, we must be prudent in making decisions that will affect the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
