Strike of Excellence: Penny Piotraschke Named Summer Bowling Coach of the Season!

Congratulations to Penny Piotraschke for being honored as the 2024 Summer Bowling Coach of the Season for Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC)! This recognition is a testament to Penny’s unwavering dedication, compassion, and outstanding leadership, which have left a lasting impact on our athletes, volunteers, and the entire community.

Since beginning her journey with us as a volunteer in 2012 and stepping into the role of head coach in 2015, Penny has continually demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the well-being and development of her athletes. Her ability to manage a thriving program of 53 athletes, 14 coaches, and 12 volunteers speaks volumes about her organizational talents and her genuine care for each individual on her team.

Penny’s kindness, empathy, and inclusive approach create a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and succeed. Coach Penny is an amazing force, and she did such an extraordinary job of making sure all the coaches, volunteers, and athletes were ready for the season and fully informed. The whole season was very organized, welcomed new athletes, and provided joy throughout our communities thanks to her talents and dedication.

Beyond bowling, Penny’s expansion into coaching bocce and her certifications across various sports highlight her versatility and her readiness to step in wherever needed.

This award is a well-deserved recognition of the passion and dedication Penny brings to our programs. Her leadership has been an inspiration to all, and we are incredibly proud of your achievements.
